What if there is an error with my visa?

Entry Visa Errors

If there is an error or mistake on your 90-day entry clearance vignette then you may be able to have this corrected at the Visa Application Centre (VAC) where you made your visa application so you should contact them before you travel to the UK.

BRP Errors

If your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) contains errors when you collect this upon your arrival in the UK then you should report this to UKVI as soon as possible through their error report form. If you are unsure whether your BRP has an error or not then please contact us and we can confirm.

Once you obtained an amended BRP then you need to send evidence of both sides of your new permit to the Student Immigration Team so we can update your record.

The UKVI guidance on BRP cards confirms that you should not report a BRP card end date of 31 December 2024. This is because the UKVI is set to move to digital immigration statuses from January 2025 and BRPs will no longer be required.

You can check the full length of your visa in the decision letter or e-mail that you should have received notifying you of your successful visa application and as long as this is correct then you will not need to report an error to UKVI.

UKVI has advised that they will provide updated guidance on the transition away from BRPs in early 2024.

Digital Visa Errors

If you have a digital visa status then you must contact us so that we can submit a request with UKVI to have this amended for you.
