Muse headbands

Technology enchanced meditation

Stormy mind? Stormy weather.

Calm mind? Calm weather.

Muse translates your brainwaves to the sound of the weather.

Guide yourself to a calm mind with the Muse app and brainwave-sensing headband.

Come along to our drop in sessions and find a focussed calm to help with stress management and focussing skills.

Where?

Please note that there are no muse sessions taking place for the time being.

Muse meditation sessions usually take place on a drop-in basis in the pod in the large room at the back of the University's Main Library, on the ground floor.

In the meantime, take a look at the online meditation workshops run by the University's counselling service.

When?

Thank you for your interest in muse!

There are no muse sessions running for the time being.

Details of upcoming sessions will be posted on this page when sessions resume.

Why?

  • Experience all the benefits of meditation - such as improved mood and reduced stress/anxiety.
  • Can lead to improved mental performance and ability to relax.
  • Receive accurate, real-time feedback on what's happening in your brain when you meditate.
  • Personalised tracking, motivational challenges and rewards to encourage you to build a more regular and effective practice.
  • Flexible - you choose the duration of your practice.

What do I need to do?

We can provide all the necessary equipment on the day but to get the most out of your session, we'd recommend that you download the Muse App on your bluetooth-enabled devide (e.g. phone/tablet) in advance, register your details and watch some of the instructional videos. You might want to bring your own in-ear earphones too (over ear headphones can interfere with the signals from the headband unfortunately).

Don't forget to bring along a valid UoM student ID card with you to the session!
