As part of accepting your offer for a place on one of our master’s courses or postgraduate research programmes, we may ask you to pay an acceptance deposit. We’ll let you know in your offer letter if this applies to your course, and any deposit you pay will be deducted from your tuition fees'
Please visit our webpage for more information on acceptance deposits.
If you are an international student and need a Student Visa to study a full time, taught master’s course at Manchester, you are required to pay a tuition fee deposit before an electronic Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) can be issued.
If you are required to pay an acceptance deposit, any requirement for a CAS deposit will be waived, unless your programme’s required CAS deposit is higher than the acceptance deposit, if this is the case you must pay the difference before your CAS can be issued
Please visit our webpage for more information on tuition fee CAS deposits for international master’s students.
CAS deposit refunds are only available if your visa application is refused, provided that the refusal is not due to the use of fraudulent documentation during the visa application process.
The refund criteria for acceptance deposits can be found on our webpage.
For both types of deposit you must email your school to request a refund in the first instance.
Paying tuition fees, either yourself or on behalf of someone else, is easy and straightforward. We encourage payment in advance of you arriving at the University at the start of your studies to avoid unnecessary delays or problems transferring funds - especially for overseas payers.
You can make a full or partial payment towards your tuition fees in advance of registration. This facility is available to any non-MBA applicant who has firmly accepted an Unconditional Offer for an academic course at the University (excluding pre-sessional English courses).
The quickest and easiest way to pay your deposit is online using a credit or debit card. You will receive an email asking you to complete IT Signup. Once you have done this, log into the early payments app in My Manchester below and follow the instructions.
