Step 1: Report the loss or theft of your BRP card to the Home Office 

Even though BRP cards are no longer being produced by UKVI you must report the loss or theft of your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) card to the Home Office (UKVI) otherwise you could receive a fine of up to £1000. You should do this online using this form. 

You will need to provide:  

• Your personal details including your full name, date of birth, and nationality
• Your postal address or your e-mail address
• The reference number of the BRP that has been lost or stolen
• When and where your BRP was lost or stolen
