There are a number of schemes available to save you money.

• On the buses, a single journey for adults will be £2. See more information about unlimited and weekly tickets here.

• TfGM (Transport for Greater Manchester) offer free buses, linking the main rail stations, car parks, shopping areas and businessess. See more information about routes, destinations and timetables here.

•  A Stagecoach Unirider allows you to make one single payment to travel for a single academic year, for use on any Stagecoach Greater Manchester bus. See more information and to purchase tickets here.

• Travelling by bike is an alternative and there are many cycle lines around the University and Manchester. For all things bike related, find details here. If you would like to hire a bike details are available here. 

• A National Express card will get you 1/3 off every coach journey. See more information and prices here.

• A 16-25 railcard will get you 1/3 off rail travel. See more details here. If you are a mature student you can still get 1/3 off with a rail card but you will need to complete a Mature Student Appication form and have it validated by the university.

If you are travelling abroad, the ISIC card provides students with thousands of discounts on food, shopping and cultural activities.
