Food Shopping

Key information

Shopping for your groceries each week can become quite expensive, and it is easy for us to waste food if we don't plan ahead.

Planning and being conscious of your food shopping will help you to stick to a budget and reduce waste, allowing you to eat more sustainably which supports both you and the planet.

There are external organisations that provide advice on eating on a budget.

  • The NHS Vegetarian guide. The NHS provides information on how to eat vegetarian food on a budget.
  • The Vegan Society offer recipes and tips on how to eat well as a vegan on a budget.
  • Supercook is a great website if you are on a budget. You insert the ingredients you have left in your cupboard and it will find you a recipe to make a meal with them.
  • Love food, hate waste - Helping you to make the most of the food that you love.
  • Olio lets you pick up unused food (and other items) for free. It's good for your pocket and the environment.
  • If you have an iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch you can download Any List to help keep track of you grogery shopping and recipies.
