HOST UK arranges for international students studying in the UK to spend a day or weekend in a British home. The invitations are offered by approved, volunteer (unpaid) hosts, who are interested in meeting you and learning about your culture. Hosts enjoy sharing meals and conversation and are well equipped to answer questions about the UK.

HOST UK's volunteer hosts invite students to visit their home for a short time (Friday to Sunday on a weekend) to experience their home life. They know all their hosts and have been to their homes. So HOST UK visits are SAFE and their hosts want you to feel welcome and at home in this country. You can go alone, or with an international student friend, or with your partner/children if they are living in the UK with you. HOST UK have hosts in every part of Britain. You tell them your travel budget, and they will choose a suitable host for you within that budget

HOST standard visits cost £66 for a day visit and £114 for a weekend visit and you will have to pay for your travel expenses.
Festive day visits cost £84 and they cost £150 for an overnight visit.

HOST UK is a voluntary organisation, a network of UK residents who welcome adult international students to their homes for a day, weekend, or Christmas visit. HOST was established in 1987 by the British Council and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
The purpose is to give students an insight into the way of life in Britain. Students also share their own culture with their hosts. By helping students far from home to feel welcome in the UK, HOST contributes to international friendship and goodwill.
It is a unique opportunity to get away from the campus and out into the community for a weekend; to meet British residents and to find out more about the everyday life of this country by sharing it for a short time.
A HOST UK visit will be an interesting and valuable addition to your experience of Britain. If you wish, you can bring a friend with you too, but they will have to pay their own application fee.
