If you change address you must inform the University and UKVI. You must update your MyManchester page with your new address details and also update UKVI. 

• If you have a digital visa (eVisa) or UKVI account then you can update your address details directly through your UKVI account.

• If you have a Biometric Residence Permit then you can update your addess details using UKVI's online form. 

If you change any of your personal details you must inform the University and UKVI. You should email the Student Immigration Team and explain the change and attach scans of any relevant evidence so we can ensure your record is updated.

If you have a digital visa (eVisa) then you can update your name, correct your date of birth, add an extra nationality or upload an updated photo of yourself through your UKVI account.

If you have a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP), then you will need to apply for a replacement permit by completing the online application form if any of the following personal details change:

• name
• nationality
• facial appearance 
• date of birth
• gender

If you have a visa vignette in your passport which is for longer than 6 months and any of the details above change then you will need to apply to transfer your visa to a BRP.

In either case, an application for a replacement/transfer BRP application should cost £19.

If your visa is for less than 6 months then you do not need to do this.

You must inform the University and UKVI if you change or renew your passport. You must email the Student Immigration Team explaining the change and including a clear scan of your new passport.

• If you have a digital visa (eVisa) then you can directly update your UKVI account with your new passport details.

• If you have a Biometric Residence Permit then you will need to inform UKVI by completing their Change of Circumstances form. This is a paper form and is free for you to complete and post to UKVI as explained in the application form itself. Please read the last pages of the form for more guidance about how to complete it and what you will need to include.

If other circumstances change then you may be obligated to inform the University and/or UKVI. Such changes may include any criminal convictions or a change in relationship with your Student Dependants.

UKVI's Change of Circumstances form provides guidance on what changes you should inform them of. This is a paper form and should be completed and posted to UKVI. However, you should contact us first so that we can advise you about any potential implications for your current visa or any future applications.
