Student Finance - Overview

It also discusses interest-free financial support options and provides useful links for further information.

Key Information

  • You should be eligible to receive funding if you are studying a first degree, and you are a UK home student or EU student.
  • You can receive a tuition fee loan plus a maintenance loan, and students with particular circumstances may be eligible for additional allowances.
  • Tuition fees are non-means tested and are paid directly to the University. Maintenance loans are means tested based on residual household income.
  • Repayments will be made from the April after you leave your course, once you earn over £25,725 in the UK, currently at a rate of 9% but this may alter in line with the rate of inflation.
