Student Finance and University Bursary Common Issues

This document covers many of the key issues/questions we see in relation to receiving Student Finance and applying for the University's bursaries for undergraduate UK/EU students. It explains why you might not have received the funding you were expecting and what information we need from you in order to assess your eligibility for our bursaries.

Key Information

  • If your Student Finance hasn’t arrived, make sure you have submitted the relevant documents, your National Insurance Number, you have completed the 10 steps of Registration and collected your student card and input your bank details on the Student System area of MyManchester.
  • The usual turnaround period between applying for and receiving your Student Finance is 6 weeks however this can be longer during peak times.
  • If your funding isn’t what you were expecting, ensure that you have submitted evidence for a full financial assessment which will ensure that you receive any bursary/scholarship funding you might be entitled to.
